Application Fee
A non-refundable application fee of $15 for certificate, diploma,
and associate degree programs is due at the time of application
for admission.
Tuition
Tuition is typically assessed at the rate of $36 per credit
hour up to a maximum of $ 432 per quarter for diploma and
associate degree programs for Georgia residents. Certificate
tuition charges may vary from the above depending upon the
program. Tuition for Electrical Line Worker, Certified Warehousing
Distribution Specialist, Certified Manufacturing Specialist,
and Certified Customer Service Specialist is assess
at the rate of $54 per credit hour. Tuition for the Firefighter
and Emergency Medical Technology programs is assessed at the
rate of $62 per credit hour. Tuition for the Commercial Truck
Driving program is $2914 per quarter (includes $130.00 surchange
NOT covered by HOPE). Esthetician and Therapeutic Massage
Technician are assessed at the rate of $53 per credit hour.
Requests for fee waivers must be made in writing to the Vice
President for Student Services. The request must be received
prior to the end of the drop/add period for the quarter under
consideration. If granted, the waiver is valid for one quarter
only. Any additional fee waiver will require the student to
follow the aforementioned procedures each quarter.
Existing students can pay tuition online by signing into
the BannerWeb
system. To pay tuition online, students will need a login
and PIN #. Instructions for using BannerWeb for paying tuition
can be found here.
Tuition for OUT-OF-STATE students is twice
the rate of Georgia students, and tuition for FOREIGN
students is four times the Georgia resident rate. Out-of-state
tuition is waived for students who are legal residents of
counties bordering the Georgia counties in the North Georgia
Technical College Service Delivery Area: North Carolina
– Cherokee, Clay, and Macon; South Carolina –
Oconee.
Instructional/Technology Support Fee
Students are required
to pay this fee of $35 per quarter.
Student Activity Fee
Students are required to pay an activity fee of $25 per quarter.
Both GVTC and total internet students are not required to
pay this fee.
Registration Fee
Students are required to pay this fee of $26 per quarter.
Parking Fee
Students are required to pay a non-refundable
fee of $5. This fee is assessed per student not per vehicle
and applies to every registered student (driver and non-driver)
with the exception of GVTC students and total internet students.
Accident Insurance Fee
Students are required to pay this fee of $4 per quarter. Both
GVTC and students taking only online classes are not required
to pay this fee.
Drug Test Fee
A non-refundable fee of $35 will be charged students enrolling
in the following programs: Medical Assisting, EMT, Paramedic,
Pharmacy Technician, Medical Laboratory, Healthcare Technician,
and Practical Nursing.
Late Registration Fee
Any student who does not register and pay fees by the last
day prior to the beginning of classes will be charged a non-refundable late registration fee of
$20.
Graduation Fee
A non-refundable fee of $35 will be charged during the quarter
the student applies for graduation.
Check Handling Fee
A check handling fee of $20 per check will be paid for all
checks returned by the bank for “insufficient funds,”
“account closed,” or “stop payment.”
Residence Hall/Dining Hall Fees
– Clarkesville Campus
Resident students will be charged $1025.00 per quarter for room
and board for a private room. Residence Hall room charges
will be $950.00 per quarter for students who are assigned
double occupancy rooms. Residence Hall/Dining Hall fees include
breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday through Friday during
the quarter (excluding holidays).
A $65 deposit is due when the Residence Hall application/contract
is returned to the Director of Special Services. This deposit
is fully refundable if the student follows official check-out
procedures, leaves campus housing with no balance due on his/her
account, leaves his/her room in good condition and free of
any personal belongings, and returns the key(s) and the student
ID.
The room charge in Bryant Hall for college-sponsored events
is $10. Other circumstances are covered under SBTAE No.V.K.
The previously listed charges are for the 208 days per year
classes are in session. This excludes vacation, holidays,
and other established periods when residence hall and dining
hall facilities are closed. No overnight guests are allowed
in Bryant Hall.
Payment of Fees
All quarterly fees are due and payable at registration. Students
approved for grants and scholarships are expected to apply
these funds toward their account. Any remaining balances after
approved financial aid has been credited must be paid at registration.

Fee Variations
The following policy applies to student fee charges where
variations in programs or course schedules occur.
- Students enrolled only to complete IP’s (In Progress
grades) will pay student activity fee and other registration
fees.
- Internship and clinical students will pay student activity
fee and other registration fees each quarter.
- Students enrolled in credit courses will pay all appropriate
fees if enrolling in non-credit courses.
There is no tuition fee for campus-based classes charged
to Georgia residents 62 years of age or older provided there
is available space in the class if they are HOPE eligible.
If senior Georgia residents are not HOPE eligible, they will
be responsible for paying the student activity fee and other
registration fees. Other costs, such as textbooks, are required
of senior Georgia residents. Tuition and fees are not waived
for on-line, Internet classes.
Credit Student Refunds
Students withdrawing from a course by the end of the third instructional day of the quarter shall receive a 100% refund of tuition paid and applicable refundable fees, excluding the application fee.
Students who withdraw from a course AFTER the third instructional day of the quarter shall receive no refund.
Room and Board
Room and board is based upon the total number of weeks in
the quarter. In some cases payments for unused FULL-WEEK
periods may be refunded once the student officially checks
out, leaves the room in good condition and free of any personal
belongings, shows no account balance, and returns his/her
room key(s) and student ID.
Students who attend North Georgia Technical College for the
first time and are Title IV recipients may be eligible for
a prorated refund. A prorated refund reduces the charges on
an eligible student’s account based on the date of the
student’s withdrawal from class. A student may be eligible
for this reduction in charges if he/she withdraws prior to
the sixth week of the quarter (based on a ten-week quarter).
Non-Credit Student Refunds
Continuing Education
- Preregistered students may receive a full refund of all
course fees and supply fees for short-term courses provided
they cancel prior to the scheduled date of the first class
or registration/payment deadline.
- Students who withdraw prior to the beginning of the third
class session following enrollment in a short-term course
of 30 or more contact hours may receive a refund of 75 percent
of all course fees. No refund will be made after that date.
- Students enrolling in seminars, workshops, and special
short courses of less than 30 contact hours will receive
no refund after the scheduled enrollment date.
- Refunds will automatically be provided when the college
cancels a course or seminar.
Economic Development Services
Charges and refunds are negotiated with each business or industry
for non-credit courses or seminars.
Malpractice Insurance
A malpractice insurance fee of $11.50 is required for students
enrolled in the following programs: Practical Nursing, Medical
Laboratory Technology, Medical Assisting, Pharmacy Technology,
Health Care Technician, and Cosmetology. The malpractice insurance
fee for students in Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) and
Paramedic Technology is $46.50. This insurance can be purchased
through the cashier at either the Clarkesville, Currahee,
or Blairsville Campus. This fee is non-refundable once the
student has attended at least one day of class.
